Chapter 110: Couldn’t Bear to See Him Leave (2)
Ye Tianxin took out her phone and sent a text message to Li Qingcang. “Brother Li, have you reached home yet?”
But on second thought, she deleted it, thinking the message was inappropriate. Then, she typed, “Brother Li, I saw the exercise books that you left behind for me. I’ll definitely make it into the Capital University.”
“No.” Ye Tianxin rejected this message too, and shook her head violently as she deleted it.
“I have no idea what to say. Should I ask him what he’s doing now? I wonder when we’ll ever meet again,” she thought, feeling incredibly sad.
Clutching onto her cell phone, she stared fixedly at the words “A Li Qingcang” on the screen.
After a long time had passed, she finally decided to switch her cellphone off and place it beside her pillow. Then, she shut her eyes and slipped off into a deep slumber.
...
It was quiet at the Li residence.
After dinner, all five members of the Li family lazed around on the mahogany sofa in the living room, chatting with one another.
Li Xingchen skillfully prepared Kung Fu tea and served everyone a cup once she finished making it.
The air was filled with the calming fragrance of tea, and everyone gradually loosened up.
“Qingcang, don’t injure yourself again this time. Stay safe!” Wu Tong stressed.
She was very worried about her son, because if he were to get into an accident, the consequences would be unthinkable, since his blood type was rare. They were lucky that a young lady had volunteered to donate blood to him when he’d been injured the last time. Wu Tong couldn’t even bear to imagine what would have happened otherwise.
“Got it, Mom. I’ll take care of myself. Don’t worry,” Li Qingcang assured her.
Wu Tong then turned to Li Hang, who was sitting next to her, and said sternly, “Say something. Qingcang is leaving tomorrow.”
“I have nothing to say. Qingcang is a grown man, not a three-year-old child. He knows what he should and shouldn’t do. You don’t need to worry about him so much,” said Li Hang.
“How could I not worry about him? He’s my son, and he’s a part of me,” Wu Tong thought.
“Xinghe, please help take care of Cang,” Wu Tong requested, and Li Xingchen couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“Mom, you’re really desperate, aren’t you?” Li Xingchen said. “Xinghe isn’t working in the same place as Qingcang, so how could he look after him?” she asked.
“Mom, I’ll take good care of myself. Don’t worry,” Li Qingcang reiterated before he glanced at the time on his watch. As he had a date, he said, “Mom, I have to leave. I’m meeting someone to discuss some matters.”
“It’s so late already. Who are you meeting? Our family hardly gets to spend time together. Can’t you stay a while longer?” Wu Tong replied angrily.
However, Li Hang assured Li Qingcang, “Run along, son.”
Wu Tong could only look on helplessly as Li Qingcang gradually disappeared from sight. “He really can’t stay put at home for a minute, can he? Am I that scary that he can’t bear to stay at home? He’s going to leave tomorrow morning, and it won’t be easy for us to spend time together anymore,” she muttered.
“Mom, Qingcang’s a grown man,” Li Xingchen said. “He has his own list of things to do, so don’t let your imagination run wild. Alright, you and Dad should have an early night. Xinghe and I should get going too.”
Xie Xinghe was usually a reticent man who rarely spoke.
Wu Tong stood up. Then, she retrieved a bag of items from the refrigerator and shoved it into Li Xingchen’s arms.
“Xingchen, I think Xinghe has lost weight. You should prepare some delicious food for him. He’s busy at work every day, so as his wife, you must learn to care for him,” Wu Tong nagged.
Feigning jealousy, Li Xingchen grumbled, “Mom, I’m your child, not Xinghe!”
