Coming to an End (3)

“Normal people aren’t allowed to go there but you can,” Grandpa Sun replied. Then, he looked at Zhai Yunsheng and commented: “I suppose you can come along as well.”

And thus, Grandpa Sun led them into his thatched hut.

There was nothing special in the interior of the thatched hut. However, it was simple and clean.

In order to protect the innocents who didn’t know the dangers of this place, Grandpa Sun generally did not want people to approach his thatched hut.

After they sat down, Grandpa Sun briefly told his story to Jian Yiling and Zhai Yunsheng.

He told them that when he was young, he chose to escape his responsibilities and be wild. However, later on, he chose to give up glory to shoulder his responsibilities and thereby guarded this place for decades.

Fame and fortune were once inciting to him.

But as time passed on, he learned that those weren’t the things that were important to him.

Therefore, he left the noisy and bustling cities and returned to a peaceful life in the mountains.

As he spoke about the ups and downs in his life, Grandpa Sun seemed quite indifferent. He didn’t seem nostalgic about anything nor did he seem to have any regrets.

Likewise, Jian Yiling also told Grandpa Sun about her experiences in her current and past lives and she spoke about them in an indifferent tone as well.

“So that’s how it is,’ Grandpa Sun commented. “You only managed to come back and travel between the two worlds because you were blessed. I assume the person who made the wish for you paid a very heavy price.”

Jian Yiling nodded and replied, “He paid a heavy price.”

Despite hearing this, Grandpa Sun said: “But you can rest assured. Things will follow fate. What is his will eventually return.”

Once again, Jian Yiling nodded and said: “I will be handing the piece of vellum to you. As for the compass...”

“Don’t worry. Without this piece of vellum, they wouldn’t be able to figure out the secret behind the Goodman family compass. Let them continue on their wild goose chase.”

Even though the compass was the key, the method of using the key was written on the piece of vellum.

And they would never be able to find this piece of vellum.

After some further discussion, Grandpa Sun’s attention was drawn to the little boy in his arms.

“What’s his name?” Grandpa Sun asked with interest.

“His name is Zhai Yuze and his nickname is Erdan,” Zhai Yunsheng replied.

“That’s not a bad name,” Grandpa Sun commented. “He has good muscles and a good bone structure. You should train him in the future.”

“I will,” Zhai Yunsheng answered. He has a similar opinion to Grandpa Sun.

“If you don’t have time, it’s okay to leave him with me for a while. I can help you take care of him. Even though I don’t like this ugly thing, as he has good genetics, I can reluctantly agree to help.”

“Okay.”

“No.”

Zhai Yunsheng was the one who said okay whereas Jian Yiling was the one who said no.

Jian Yiling was evidently unhappy with this arrangement.

When Zhai Yunsheng saw this, he quickly changed his mind and said: “I think I’ll teach him myself.”

Grandpa Sun couldn’t help but be amused that Zhai Yunsheng got scared whenever Jian Yiling was upset. Tch! He was a coward!

“So how long do you guys plan to stay here?” Grandpa Sun asked.

“We will be leaving soon,” Zhai Yunsheng answered.
